Comprehensive Piano Exam Materials

MMTA publishes a syllabus and other materials to help teachers
prepare their students for Comprehensive Piano Exams.

Piano Exam Syllabus:
Provides a program overview for Comprehensive
Piano Exams, followed by eleven sections outlining the
specific requirements for each exam level.

Resource List:
A graded list of piano repertoire correlated with the piano syllabus helps teachers find repertoire in collections and anthologies other than the sources listed in the syllabus.

Resources for teachers plus reproducible student check-off charts for each level help monitor progress in preparation for piano syllabus exams.

Style Characteristics Chart:

Wall chart which outlines characteristics of the main eras in classical music. Designed to help students preparing for the oral questions section of upper-level comprehensive piano exams.

Adventures in Time and Space, Volumes I & II:
Comprehensive Piano Exam Levels I - VI require two technical studies of contrasting style. These two volumes of short musical pieces are featured prominently in those lists.
