| The Minnesota International e-Competition and MMTA | |
From the Artistic Director of the Minnesota International Piano-e-Competition With three very successful competitions under our belt, the Minnesota International Piano-e-Competition is presenting a different kind of event in July 2008. Designed especially for children ages 17 and under, the e-Piano Junior Competition will bring wonderful young talents from around the world to Minnesota. Competition can provide an inspiring and educational experience for the contestants. Listening to the performances of a competition is equally enlightening. Our audiences will be exposed to a wide variety of styles and interpretations. This can be a truly formative experience for aspiring pianists, teachers and music lovers. As part of our emphasis on the educational aspect of the competition, we have made all performances of the e-Piano Junior Competition free of charge. We are also collaborating with the Minnesota Music Teachers Association in producing the e-Piano Junior Festival 2008 – an educational experience created especially for the young pianists of Minnesota. The e-Piano Junior Festival will include master classes given by the members of the e-Piano Junior International Jury members, opportunities to perform, lectures, presentations and panel discussions.
