The MusicLink program exists to help promising children in need get the chance to study music. Teachers are asked to reduce their fee by at least half to offer this opportunity to these students and the MusicLink Foundation supports the links with discounts on music and materials, assistance with getting practice instruments, and Summer Music Camp Scholarships.

Become a MusicLink Teacher

Playathon

On February 11-12, 2012, Minnesota students will again be given the opportunity to show off their musical talents by participating in a MusicLink Playathon at the Mall of America.  This is a fundraising event sponsored by MMTA & Schmitt Music to benefit the MusicLink Foundation.  Last year's event was very successful in raising much-needed funds for the Foundation and also proved to be an exciting experience for students, teachers & parents.  It really gave a convincing public face to the value of music education.  Click on the links below to print out information and registration forms.

Ruth Stenson Award

The Minnesota MusicLink program will be offering a $1,000 scholarship award to a graduating MusicLink student this Spring in memory of Ruth Stenson, a long-time MusicLink teacher who passed away recently.  Ruth embodied the spirit of the MusicLink teacher, reaching out to many children in her area to give them the chance to have lessons.  She is sadly missed, but will live on in this award that will honor her memory and continue to help students realize their musical dreams.
