The MusicLink (ML) Foundation has the mission of linking qualified music teachers, who are willing to teach lessons for full or partial scholarship, with promising students in need. Many talented students will never have a chance to develop their potential simply because of financial need.
Qualified teachers, who agree to take on just one student at up to half their normal fee, can change that child’s life forever.
What are the benefits of becoming a MusicLink teacher?
The MusicLink Foundation doesn’t pay teachers to teach, but supports MusicLink teachers and students by:
1. helping to arrange links between teachers and students
2. offering grass root grants for ML teachers and scholarships for ML students
3. providing summer music camp scholarships for ML students
4. issuing an I.D. card to qualify ML teachers for offers from Business Partners, such as:
- Free or discounted music and materials from such fine companies as Hal Leonard, Carl Fischer, Kjos, Alfred, FJH, Willis, Schmitt Music, and many more
- Electronic keyboards or acoustic pianos placed in the homes of ML students.
- Loans of instruments
- Free rental space for meetings or recitals
In addition, MMTA waives all fees for exams, contests, and the Music Bridges program. Educational materials are offered at a 50% discount for ML students and ML teachers who join MMTA can purchase the Syllabus package at a 50% discount. MMTA recertification credit is also given for teaching a ML student.
