2019 MMTA Convention

Developing Musical Hearts and Minds

June 9-11, 2019

We are all looking forward to the Minnesota Music Teachers Association (MMTA) annual convention, June 9-11, 2019, at the Crowne Plaza AiRE in Bloomington.  We just got word, however, that our guest artist, Randall Faber, will not be able to attend due to illness, and based on doctor's orders to avoid air travel for the next several months.

The good news is that Dr. Faber has already offered to attend the MMTA convention in a future year.  For this year, the convention committee is working with several individuals to provide the keynote address, classical piano master class clinician, and two 50-minute sessions he would have led, as well as performers for the Monday night recital.  We are not necessarily expecting all these roles to be filled by the same person.  We are confident that the convention will be exciting and rewarding for everyone who attends.

Based on the initial application review, participants will be invited to perform in front of an audience at the MMTA Convention on Sunday, June 9, 2019.  Performances are free and open to the public.  We promise for this to be a very fun event for parents and teachers and all young musicians!
