The Minnesota Music Teachers Association (MMTA) is seeking digital poster proposals from Collegiate Student Members to present at their annual convention, June 2-4, 2024. Presenters would need to be on site in front of their posters at Normandale Lutheran Church in Edina, at a minimum:
- Monday, June 3, 12:30―1:00 p.m. (2nd half of lunch hour)
- Monday, June 3, 2:55―3:25 p.m.
Posters may be left up for the duration of the conference, but materials will be taken down and discarded on Tuesday, June 4, at 5:00 p.m., unless other arrangements are made.
MMTA invites proposals that:
- Reflect innovation and cutting-edge content
- Stimulate and provoke audience discussion
- Include multimedia approaches to enhance learning
- Explore pedagogical and performance issues important to all levels
Highlighted topics may include:
- Current technology trends
- Musicians as entrepreneurs
- Current state of scholarship in the music teaching profession
- International music pedagogy
- Historical performance and pedagogy
Poster sessions should showcase student research, projects, community outreach and/or engagement. All posters should include all pertinent information in a manner that is visible from 3–4 feet away. Presenters applying for a Poster Session must additionally submit a computer-generated sample in PDF or JPEG format. Group and individual sessions will be considered.
