Piano Contest & Piano Solo Festival
The Piano Contest and Piano Solo Festival deadline, December 1, is approaching fast. With the unpredictability of the COVID- 19 pandemics, we need to make adjustments to some of the deadlines, rules, and procedures this year.
Preliminaries
TC Sat, TC Sun, C, SWM, and SWNU districts will hold virtual pre-recorded Contest Preliminary and Piano Solo Festivals.
- Video submission deadlines for TC Sat will be January 16, 2021 ( one week earlier )
- Video submission deadlines for TC Sun will be January 17, 2021 ( one week earlier )
- Video submission deadlines for C, SWM, and SWNU will be January 30, 2021
This year only due to the virtual platform, the C, SWM, and SWNU districts will be grouped as one Greater MN district.
NW, NE, WA, and SE districts will hold in-person Piano Contest and Piano Solo Festival events. If the COVID-19 situation worsens, these in-person events may change to virtual pre-recorded.
Teachers may register their students in a different district if they prefer another platform than the one offered in their community. After the registration deadline, December 1, no day or district changes are allowed.
In the current pandemic conditions, this academic year only will exceptions be made for students who are registered for the in-person Piano Contest Preliminaries or Solo Festival. In the case, if students need to quarantine, they will have to give the in-person site administrator a 24-hour notice and request a change to virtual pre-recorded participation. The teacher will have to contact only the site administrator to make the switch.
The pre-recorded video submission deadline - January 30, 2021, has to be met. Students registered for a virtual event will not be allowed to change to in-person participation.
Finals
The Contest Finals will be virtual pre-recorded only. The video submission deadlines will be Saturday, March 13, and Sunday, March 14, 2021.

Registration deadlines:
- Preliminary Piano Contest and Piano Solo Festival - All districts: December 1, 2020
- Final Contest TC – February 6, 2021
- Final Contest all Other Districts – February 13, 2021
Young Artist Piano Contest
The Young Artist Competition will be virtual pre-recorded only. The registration deadline is January 2, 2021 Video submission deadline is February 20, 2021 ( one week earlier ) In the Young Artist Competition only, the same video will be used for the preliminaries and finals.
