MMTA Foundation Grants and Awards

MMTA Foundation offers Teacher, District and Local Association Grants, Travel Grants for Minnesota winners of MTNA state and division performance competitions, and Monetary Awards for students who have demonstrated superior achievement in MMTA educational exams. Additional achievement awards include the Young Artist Winner, Student Composition Winner and Student of the Year. Below are some grant that have upcoming deadlines. Apply today! 

Robert Schmitt Professional Development Grants
The MMTA Foundation provides financial assistance for music teachers undertaking projects which enhance their professional development. Funding provided through a generous gift from Schmitt Music Company.

Student of the Year Award
Given to a senior in High School, the Student of the Year Award honors a music student who demonstrates involvement in MMTA programs. The candidate should display a strong record of service to his or her community through music; participation in musical ensembles; and skill as a performer and creative musician.
The winning student is awarded $1,000. This award is presented at the MMTA Foundation Award Winners Recital held the Sunday evening prior to the MMTA Convention.

District/Local Association Grant Application
MMTA Districts and Local Associations are encouraged to apply for assistance in funding educational programs.
