The Minneapolis Music Teachers Forum is once again sponsoring Piano Contest workshops held on Zoom.  The dates are as follows:
    Sept. 7 - SRB - Dr. Susan Billmeyer
    Sept 14 - SRA - Dr. Stella Sick
    Sept 21 - INB  - Dr. Herb Johnson
    Sept 28 - INA - Suzanne Greer
    Oct.    5 - JRB - Jean Krinke and Camille Buddecke
    Oct.  12 - JRA,PRI,PREPRI  -  Dr. Sara Langmead

Workshops begin at 9:45 a.m.

Note:  The cost for each ZOOM class: $18.  Registration deadline is the Friday prior to the date of the class.

The Judge Education Committee is looking for new members.  Please consider if this committee will be a good fit for your interests.   It is preferred that you be an experienced MMTA Endorsed Judge and that you have considerable experience with students participating in MMTA’s quality and programs.

Our current committee is:  Mary Fadden, Maria Grant, Sharon Kaplan, Jill Kilzer, Kay Koehnen.

What would you do as a JEC committee member? 

Due to the continuation of the pandemic, many Spring events have changed from in-person to virtual.  An updated list can be found below.  The situation is still fluid, so please watch for more updates as we move into March, April, and May.

This year the prerecorded virtual Piano Contest and Piano Solo Festival have some new rules and video submission deadline changes.

The students and teachers can make multiple recordings and submit their best take to the judge. The videos may not be edited.

Congratulations to all students who were selected as Winners, Alternates and Honorable Mentions in the Minnesota State MTNA Competitions for 2020-2021!  Winners and Representatives will move on to the Regional Competition in January.

Piano Contest & Piano Solo Festival

The Piano Contest and Piano Solo Festival deadline, December 1, is approaching fast. With the unpredictability of the COVID- 19 pandemics, we need to make adjustments to some of the deadlines, rules, and procedures this year.

Preliminaries

TC Sat, TC Sun, C, SWM, and SWNU districts will hold virtual pre-recorded Contest Preliminary and Piano Solo Festivals.
